Enjoying the Dance

Self-help books are everywhere, quick fix diets, books on how to be happy, articles on how to be a successful artist, blogs on to how actually be an artist. All of this is wonderful information, but is it too much? Are we missing the whole point?

It is natural for us to be seeking, searching, and to better ourselves, but it is important for us at some point to stop looking, and to just be. All of those self help books are lovely, but at some point you have to stop asking questions, and to just stop. Stop looking, stop seeking, stop trying so hard and give yourself a break. Quiet the mind and just be. Be present. Laugh. Surround yourself with positive people. If the person next to you is not warming your heart, then move away from them. Forget the business side of art. Paint, and do your thing. Enjoy the process, forget the outcome. Shut out the outside world, quiet the negative talk. Get lost in yourself. You are the artist. You are the creator. Once you realize that, you will produce something beautiful and organic. And you will be proud. There is no end. There is only the journey. Dancing is about the movement, and getting lost in each and every step. Life is that dance. It is as simple as that.

If you want to paint, paint. Whatever it is that you want to do, do it. Stop thinking, stop analyzing, stop talking yourself out of it, just go do it. Put yourself out there. Be scared, and do it anyway. This is your time. Be you. Love you. Let your light shine.
